snuff trax celebrates magic record release number 010: happy jackin birthday! for this little anniversary we asked four great artists to rework chosen tracks from the labels back catalogue. leading us off, mr white (you know him from his collaboration with larry heard) made an edit of snuff crews *are you house*. followed by humandrone from tokyo remixing perseus traxx - *dont feel alone*. on the flipside you hear a remix treatment for raiders of the lost arp - *stealing my love* made by our man takeshi kouzuki of kobe/japan. and last but not least dimdj from thessaloniki created his own version of *galaxian journey* by elec pt.1.

first release on vi tva for this upcoming techno producer ink other darker side of young and talented producer from bosnia & hercegovina, azur odobasic. his new ink style is dedicated to an techno sound and frame of mind in regards to underground electronic dance music. we have on this release ink original track with remix support from powerfull techno artist with likes from worldwide djs and techno radio stations. osmicz is up on board with his dark and trippy edit of velocity, indigo children is serving much more groovy and harder techno sounds giving original some more power. forest people is on a remix work here too, he is doing amazing in 2013 and have some pretty amazing stuff upcoming in 2014 so with this guys on board this release is a really must have for all techno fans..stay tuned!

this 5th release consists of three tracks made by the twin duo manic brothers, one edited by petter b. they have during their relativity short career proven themselves as worthy keepers of the swedish techno heritage with big releases on drumcode a.o. what they bring to bond on this release is their signature big room sound but with a much more simplified approach than previously heard. on the a-side there are two great tool tracks with lots of space for creative interpretation for a dj. on the flip there are a long and epic track with a massive vocal breakdown. groove based but yet with a big and strong hook.

the shag edits hits volume 4 welcoming david glass, timmy p and twos tones to the roots for bloom roster. david brings a big hitter with tape deck with its mc sampled vocal, timmy s is drenched in sunshine for all the day parties this is sure to go off at and two s tones takes things on a jazz twist, with clever sampling but always that underlying groove that the roots for bloom label is known for. fans of the previous releases wont be dissapointed.

a few trips in tel aviv made ivan smagghe aware of the extensive and more importantly, quasi forgotten, wave and pop scene from israel. blown away some of the tracks passed on to him, he and the ginger prince thought it would be a good start for the lddlm reissues series, edits and originals.

following on from his edits of dj hyperactive, jpls and mikael jonasson, len faki now takes on original sound associates material in two burning new interpretations. both >jacknife< and >boombox< blend the jacking, floor-burning funk of the original s.a cuts, with fakis unmistakable attention to detail, and deadly-high production values. finely tuned, yet raw and unrelenting, they are a perfect addition to figure s current run of releases, setting new and higher standards for underground techno in 2014.

after blazing trails with his debut longplayer exits and wowing the sceptical chat rooms with his all-hardware boiler room blow out, the north country bit smasher returns. the iiva ep is mini album of experiments, re-animations and rebirths. like dr herbert west with a hypo of fluro-serum loops haunt plunges elbow deep into his hardrives sonic corpses unleashing an army of weaponised soundscapes. unlike its big brother exits, iiva sets an immediate agenda, drums burst through fizzing tape hiss and field recorded found sounds are given urgency and purpose. along with an army of hooded mystery collaborators pans nhk even joins the fray with a radiophonic technoid rerub of iiva. all action.

once again, the sunkissed camp get it spot on with this loud-pressed 12 inch collection of balearic classics from brazilian songstress astrud gilberto. opens with the original version of mesmerising dancer *black magic*, a great dj weapon that got the tangoterje edit seal of approval a few years back. followed by balearic favourite *beginnings*, a jazzy take on chicago s classic hit which spins out into eight minutes of sensual bliss. turn over for big daniel wang play, the obscure lp track *all i ve got*, a glorious low-slung floor-filling gem produced by none other than salsoul orchestra founder vince montana who also supplies the sublime disco version of the song that made astrud a household name *the girl from ipanema*. lastly comes her cool and breezy version of the bossanova jazz standard *agua de beber*. beautiful stuff.

hailing from sunny los angeles, plastic love records kicks off our first release with an ep from label co-boss jimmy maheras. maheras made his debut in 2011 with his space jam ep on the crosstown rebels edit sub-label, rebellion. since then he s released remixes and singles on strainjjur, riff raff, supernature, and left d. maheras s two original tracks showcase his depth with the man from another place being squarely aimed at the big room dance floor and the second track, arecibo, bringing a little kraftwerkesque funk. we ve commissioned timothy j fairplay (crimes of the future) and cottam (aus music / ruff draft) for two very unique remixes. fairplay crunches down the original melody and throws it over the famed amen break to give tmfap a hands in air late night feel while cottam s remix brings the dreamy melody closer to acid with storming late night kick ready to knock down a wall.

among a thousand projects, para one is back on the dance floor with club, a new album which was not meant to be one, but believe it or not: its serious stuff! *the passion album is the background for this, as i decided to reshape it for my live act*, explains para one.
